Eyebrow PMU
in Seoul, Korea

Brows that read as yours not as makeup.

Eyebrow PMU — what many visitors search as eyebrow tattoo or eyebrow embroidery — is a semi-permanent way to redefine sparse, uneven or faded brows. Aya Seoul is led by Aya, a permanent makeup artist with 15 years of clinical experience and 8 years of instructor experience training PMU artists in Korea. Every session begins with mapping to your bone structure, natural hair pattern and facial proportion — so the result still looks like you on day one and after it heals.

We work with single-use sterile tools and SGS-certified pigments in a private Gangnam studio. For visitors short on time, your consultation, color design and procedure happen in one unhurried 1:1 appointment, with English-friendly guidance from start to aftercare.

Below: the three eyebrow techniques we offer, who each one suits, and what healing actually looks like — so you can choose with confidence before you fly in.

Microblading
Microshading· Combo Brows

One technique rarely fits every brow. In your consultation,

Aya recommends the method that matches your skin type,

the brow shape you want, and how bold or soft you'd like the finish.

01

Microblading

Hair-stroke brows, drawn one stroke at a time.

Microblading builds your brow with fine, individual hair strokes deposited by a manual blade. Each stroke follows the direction of your own hairs, so sparse areas, gaps and thin tails are filled with a texture that mimics real brow hair rather than a solid block of color. As a form of semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo, it's the most natural-looking option for clients who want definition without an obvious "made-up" look.

Because the strokes are placed by hand, microblading is detail work — Aya maps the shape against your bone structure first, confirms it with you, then works stroke by stroke so the brow stays balanced on both sides.

Best suited for

Comfort & the session

A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to keep the session comfortable. Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching rather than pain. You'll see the shape building in real time and can adjust before color is set.

Downtime & healing

There's little to no real downtime — most visitors head back to light sightseeing the same day. Brows look darker and crisper for the first few days, then soften as a light flaking phase passes around days 5–10. True, healed color settles over about 4–6 weeks, after which your complimentary touch-up perfects the result.

Because over 90% of our clients travel from overseas, we understand that returning for a touch-up isn't always possible. In these cases, Aya carefully builds additional density during the initial session to create the strongest possible healed result from a single visit. Longevity and colour retention may vary depending on skin type and aftercare.

Microblading — quick answers

  • No — hair strokes follow your natural growth, so healed brows read as fuller real brows, not drawn-on shapes.

  • On oily skin, fine strokes can blur and fade faster. For oily or large-pored skin, powder or combo brows usually hold their crispness longer — Aya will advise in consultation.

  • Yes — your whole treatment is done in one appointment, so you leave with the finished result. Because most clients fly in and can't easily come back for the optional 5-week touch-up, Aya does the first session thoroughly — adding extra density so a single visit gives you the strongest result. The touch-up is still there anytime if you return to Korea or stay longer.

02

Microshading

Soft powder gradient — like brow makeup that never smudges.

Microshading — also called powder brows — builds color with thousands of tiny dots rather than strokes, creating a soft, gradient finish that's lighter at the front and deeper toward the tail. The healed result looks like a softly filled brow with a touch of brow powder, giving more definition than microblading while still staying natural.

Because color sits as a diffuse powder rather than fine cuts, microshading is the more reliable choice for oily and combination skin, where it tends to hold its shape and saturation well over time. It's also a clean way to add fullness to brows that already have decent hair but want more polish.

Best suited for

Comfort & the session

As with all our brow work, a numbing cream keeps the session comfortable. The shading technique tends to feel gentler than blade strokes — most clients find it very manageable.

Downtime & healing

Downtime is minimal. Brows appear noticeably darker for the first several days — this is normal and softens significantly as the surface heals. A light flaking phase passes within the first week or two, and color matures to its true softness over roughly 4–6 weeks before the included touch-up.

Because over 90% of our clients travel from overseas, we understand that returning for a touch-up isn't always possible. In these cases, Aya carefully builds additional density during the initial session to create the strongest possible healed result from a single visit. Longevity and colour retention may vary depending on skin type and aftercare.

Microshading — quick answers

  • Microblading draws hair strokes for a natural texture; microshading builds a soft powder gradient for a more defined, makeup-like finish that lasts longer on oily skin.

  • They look bolder for the first few days by design, then soften considerably as they heal. The shade you choose in consultation is the healed result we aim for, not the day-one look.

  • Generally yes — powder shading holds shape and color more reliably than fine strokes on oily or large-pored skin.

03

Combo Brows

Hair strokes at the front, soft shading through the body.

Combo brows blend both techniques: fine hair strokes through the front of the brow for natural texture, with soft powder shading layered through the body and tail for fullness and definition. The result is dimensional — realistic where it matters at the head of the brow, and beautifully filled and polished everywhere else.

It's our most versatile and most-requested eyebrow option, because it adapts to most skin types and balances the natural look of microblading with the staying power of shading. If you can't decide between hair strokes and powder, combo brows are usually the answer.

Best suited for

Comfort & the session

Numbing cream is used throughout to keep you comfortable. Combo brows involve both stroke and shading work, so the appointment runs a little longer — but it stays a calm, single 1:1 session.

Downtime & healing

Healing follows the same gentle pattern: bolder, crisper brows for the first days, a light flaking phase in the first week or two, then color settling to its natural finish over about 4–6 weeks. Your included touch-up refines both the strokes and the shading once healed.

Because over 90% of our clients travel from overseas, we understand that returning for a touch-up isn't always possible. In these cases, Aya carefully builds additional density during the initial session to create the strongest possible healed result from a single visit. Longevity and colour retention may vary depending on skin type and aftercare.

Combo brows — quick answers

  • Anyone wanting both natural texture and lasting definition — and anyone unsure between microblading and powder brows. It suits most skin types.

  • Combo brows layer two techniques — hair strokes plus shading — so it's a slightly longer appointment, still completed in one visit.

  • Yes — the shading holds well on oily skin and gives lasting definition. Since most clients fly in, Aya works thoroughly in the first session to maximise a single-visit result. The colour settles over 4–6 weeks; a touch-up is optional and only if you return to Korea or stay longer.
